Industry Experience Exchange and Field Inspection: Deepening Technical Cooperation
On the morning of March 21, the Guangzhou Metro delegation, accompanied by Wang Jiansheng (Assistant to General Manager of TRT) and Lü Guogang (Director of Marketing Center), held an industry experience exchange seminar with Zhengzhou Metro's Engineering and Construction Center at Putian Depot. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics including metro line maintenance, defect treatment, application of intelligent equipment, and departmental organizational structure. Zhengzhou Metro shared application results of the FGM500C rail milling train since its delivery in October 2024, including operational effectiveness, workflow, and the significant improvements it brought to rail maintenance.
In the afternoon, the Guangzhou Metro team visited Zhengzhou Metro's Zhengdong Depot to inspect the FGM500C rail milling train on site. Wang Jiansheng provided a detailed introduction to the vehicle's structure, overall performance, and operational status since delivery. Guangzhou Metro leaders and experts examined various systems of the vehicle, carefully inspected the undercarriage structure, and exchanged views on topics of interest.
In the evening, the Guangzhou Metro delegation observed the FGM500C's actual milling operations on Zhengzhou Metro Line 1. The equipment successfully repaired rail defects such as rail corrugation, rail spalling, head checking, edge wear, and uneven joints through efficient milling technology, with its operation quality and efficiency receiving unanimous recognition from Guangzhou Metro experts.

On March 23, the Guangzhou Metro team arrived at TRT's Luoyang testing base to conduct PSI (Pre-Shipment Inspection) for the FGM500B dual-power rail milling train ready for delivery. The acceptance process covered core aspects including static inspection, complete machine performance testing, and document compliance review, with special focus on the vehicle's automated turnout milling and low-joint repair capabilities.
After rigorous testing, the FGM500B met all acceptance criteria and received unanimous approval from Guangzhou Metro's expert panel. Key specifications include: Maximum operating speed: 1.5 km/h; Maximum single-pass milling depth: 1.5 mm; Maximum operating gradient: 80; High-speed travel capability: 60 km/h.The vehicle fully meets Guangzhou Metro's maintenance needs and is ready for delivery. Particularly noteworthy is its fully automated turnout operation system and intelligent profile-tracking technology, which can accurately identify rail profile defects and achieve micron-level repair precision. The next step will see the equipment shipped to Guangzhou Metro for on-site acceptance before being deployed for mainline milling operations.

The successful acceptance of the FGM500B marks another milestone for TRT following the FGM500A (MTR project) and FGM500C (Zhengzhou Metro project). Based on Tsinghua University's core technologies and incorporating Luoyang's local manufacturing, the vehicle reduces costs by 50% compared to imported equipment while cutting maintenance costs by 60%. Its dual-power design and fully automated operation capability fill a gap in China's complex metro tunnel maintenance equipment, breaking the long-term monopoly of European and American companies.
As high-end equipment independently developed by TRT, the FGM500B integrates multiple industry-leading technologies: Dual-power supply system enables flexible switching between pantograph and diesel engine, being environmentally friendly while significantly reducing noise pollution and diesel exhaust emissions during operations, ensuring continuous working capability in complex conditions; High-efficiency dust collection system achieves over 99.5% dust collection rate, dramatically improving environmental performance; Modular design achieves breakthroughs in both equipment lightweighting and maintenance convenience;Compared to similar imported products, it reduces procurement costs by 50% and maintenance costs by 60%, providing strong support for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in China's urban rail transit.
As a benchmark for "smart metro" in China, Guangzhou Metro's introduction of the FGM500B will further strengthen its rail maintenance system. Estimates show the vehicle can significantly extend rail service life and reduce annual maintenance costs by 30% after deployment, while providing practical examples for subsequent large-scale equipment renewal policies.

Kong Delong, General Manager of TRT, stated that the company will continue advancing intelligent upgrades for rail maintenance equipment, with plans to soon launch a new energy-powered version achieving "zero-emission" operations. In the future, as FGM series rail milling vehicles see large-scale applications in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Beijing, Nanjing, Shenyang, Luoyang, Suzhou and other cities, China's rail transit maintenance will fully accelerate its "domestic replacement" process, offering cost-effective "China solutions" to global markets.
This acceptance cooperation not only deepens technical collaboration between Guangzhou Metro and TRT, but also vividly demonstrates independent innovation in China's high-end equipment manufacturing, injecting strong momentum into the "Transport Powerhouse" strategy.
